President Joe Biden will deliver remarks Monday evening to announce the completion of a US counter-terrorism operation against an al-Qaeda target in Afghanistan, the White House has said.
Mr Biden is set to deliver remarks on the “successful” operation at 7.00 pm ET on Monday, according to an update to his schedule released by the White House press office.
A senior administration official told reporters: “Over the weekend, the United States conducted a counterterrorism operation against a significant Al Qaeda target in Afghanistan. The operation was successful and there were no civilian casualties.”
