Man, Mom of 4 Found Shot to Death in Parked Car with 2 Unharmed Toddlers in Backseat

When employees from Barnhill Construction in Rocky Mount, N.C. came to work on Thursday morning, they found a pair of shooting victims in a parked car, with two children in the backseat, unharmed, according to several news sources.

At 6 a.m., an employee at the scene spotted a vehicle in the lot with a couple in the front seat. First responders quickly arrived and discovered two young children in the back seat unharmed, taking them to the hospital for evaluation due to the frigid temperatures of the night.

Rocky Mount Police Chief Robert Hassell later identified the deceased couple as Destiny Wiggins, 24, and Devone Brown, 28. Though the connection between them is unclear, the children were Wiggins according to reports.

Eric Coley, aged 42, was apprehended by Rocky Mount Police in connection to the incident. No details concerning a potential motive have been divulged. WITN/Gray News reported Coley is charged with two counts of firstdegree murder as well as possession of a firearm by a felon.

During a press conference, Rocky Mount Police Chief Hassell announced the children inside the car were oftoddler age and are now with relatives.
